NEW YEAR & SPECIALS / 2 DAYS FROM MARRAKECH, MOROCCO
Day 1: Marrakech – Tamdakhte – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz – Zagora – M’Hamid
2 Day New Years Eve Trip Morocco. Meet at 8 am for the 4×4 drive to M’Hamid via the Atlas Mountain pass Tizi-N-Tichka, and on to Ouarzazate, where a delicious lunch is served. Leave for Zagora, en route visiting the town Agdez, with a wonderful panoramic view over the Draa valley, then continuing along the valley to Tanskhirt.
On our way to M’Hamid, stop at Tamegroute to visit the Koranic library, the underground kasbah and artisan pottery. Arrive at Bivouac El Mezouaria, with time to settle in and relax before preparing for New Year’s Eve.
Celebrate New Year’s Eve beneath a starry sky, in the open desert and around a large camp fire. A delicious traditional dinner is served including Moroccan soup, mechoui (a whole lamb stewed in a specific oven: a festive speciality), couscous, a seasonal dessert, tea, Moroccan pastries.
An evening of Nomadic folklore. Overnight stay at Bivouac El Mezouaria, south of morocco.
Day 2: M’Hamid – kasbah Tamnougalt – Marrakech
After breakfast, enjoy a 2-hour camel ride and drink tea with the locals. Then leave for Marrakech along the Draa valley. En route stop at Agdez and visit the Tamnougalt kasbah.
Continue to Ouarzazate via Tizi N’Tinffift for lunch, then return to Marrakech via Tizi N’Tichka.
