NEW YEAR & SPECIALS / 2 DAYS FROM OUARZAZATE, MOROCCO
Celebrate New Year in Morocco. Day 1: Depart from Ouarzazate
We start with this 2-day trip from Ouarzazate, situated in the south of Morocco, in the morning in a 4×4 with driver. On our way to M’Hamid, we travel along the Draa valley with its thousand and one ancient kasbahs and palm groves that stretch for over 200 km.
We pass the villages Agdez and Zagora and continue to M’Hamid, the last palm groves of the Draa and the start of the desert. Then a camel ride to our Bivouac El Mezouria, the gateway to the desert. Once we are settled in the Bivouac, it is time to prepare for New Year’s Eve in the Sahara desert, Morocco.
The evening will be celebrated under the stars in the open desert and around a large camp fire.
A delicious traditional dinner is served consisting of Moroccan soup, mechoui (a whole lamb stewed in a specific oven: a festive speciality), couscous, a seasonal dessert, tea, Moroccan pastries.
An evening of Nomadic folklore. Overnight stay at Bivouac El Mezouaria.
