New Year’s Eve in a 3-day circuit departing from Marrakech, Morocco.
New Year’s Eve Marrakech South Morocco
Day 1: Dec 30: Marrakech – Tizi-n-Tichka – Agdez – Zagora-Mhamid
Meet at 8:00 am for the departure in 4×4 towards M’hamid via the Tizi-N-Tichka pass; continue to reach the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou then arrive in Ouarzazate where a tasty lunch will be served. Continue the road to Zagora, en route visit the city of Agdz, panoramic view of the Draa Valley. Continue along the valley to Tanskhirt end of the track.
Direction M’hamid. On the road, stop at Tamgroute to visit the underground kasbah and the pottery factory. Arrival at the El Mezouaria bivouac. Installation in your tent, tea is served in our restaurant with cakes, nuts and olives. In the evening a dinner and entertainment around the fire, night in a tent.
Day 2: Dec 31: M’hamid – Chegaga
After breakfast, departure in 4×4 by a sandy track for the large dunes of Chegaga, the largest dunes in Morocco, visit the sacred oasis, arrive at the bivouac, installation in your tent, lunch in the restaurant, free time to enjoy the desert.
At the end of the afternoon leave in 4×4 to the large dunes to watch the sunset. Return to the bivouac, Preparation for the night of New Year’s Eve. New Year’s Eve is spent under a starry sky in the middle of the Desert around a large fire. A delicious traditional dinner will be served, including Moroccan soup, a mechoui (whole sheep cooked in a special oven, stewed: a festive specialty) couscous, and seasonal dessert, as well as tea, Moroccan pastries.
Evening with nomadic folklore, night in a Chegaga bivouac
Day 3: 01 Jan: Chegaga – Lake Iriqui – Foum Zguid – Taznakht -Marrakech
After breakfast, departure for Marrakech by the track between the Chegaga erg and the dry bed of the Drâa passing by Lake Iriqui, then by Foum Zguid. From there, the way back to Marrakech we find the tarmac road via the village of Taznakht, famous for its Berber carpets and the carpet cooperative. We will then cross the High Atlas again to reach Marrakech.
Arrive in Marrakech around 19.00.
