Offroad trip in the Sahara dessert in the South of Morocco, Bivouac Chegaga. Surrounded by the biggest sand dunes in Morocco. A desert trip with a lot of extra’s.
Day 1 – From M’hamid to Erg Chegaga by 4×4
Depart from our office at 10.00 a.m, by 4×4 starting our trip into the desert. On this trip we will see different landscapes of the desert, hammada, small dunes and areas with tamarisk trees. On our trip to Chegaga we will visit the holy Oasis where we will have a short break to make some beautiful pictures and enyoing the view. Then we will continue our trip to the high dunes of Chegaga, 300 metres high and over 40 km length. Along the way, a delicious lunch in the middle of an oasis, a visit to a nomad family and perhaps time for a cup of tea. Then we continue our journey to Chegaga.
Arriving at our desert camp. After installation in your tent, we will have a nice cup of tea with cookies, nuts and olives. Afterwards we will go by camel to watch the sunset on top of the highest dunes, also the perfect place to try sandboarding, this is really fun! After admiring the sunset, we will go back to the camp. In the evening we will have a traditional dinner in our restaurant and music played by the our locals around the campfire. You can choose to sleep in our comfortable nomad tents or under the stars.
Day 2 – Erg Chegaga to M’hamid
Early in the morning you can wake up to watch the stunning sunrise in the dunes outside our camp. The feeling you will have sitting in the sand watching the start of a new day, is an experience you will never forget. After walking back to the camp, your breakfast will be served in our restaurant. A delicious Morrocan breakfast including pancakes, fresh orange juice, omelet etc…
After breakfast we will take our bags, leaving the camp by 4×4 back to M’hamid. Taking all the good experiences and memories with us.
Arrival time in M’hamid: 11.00 am at our office.
